partnership between Recycle Hawai`i and Performing & Fine Artists for
World Peace, the A&E Program brings artists, resource educators, native
Hawaiian cultural practitioners and community outreach staff into
classrooms throughout
Earth-Friendly Schools Hawai`i In 2007 a partnership was formed between Performing and Fine Artists
for World Peace and Recycle Hawai`i to promote Earth-Friendly Schools Hawai`i. The goal of this program is to motivate young people to get
involved in a structured activity that recognizes their work at
school and in their community. The EFSH program specifically promotes service-learning projects
and environmental education.
Art of
The Art of Recycling School Competition is an island wide, annual competition inviting students of all grade levels to make artistic creations from recycled or reused items. The event educates students and the community about the importance of creatively dealing with our island's waste issues. All K-12 schools and home schools can join this fun-filled program. In April 2010, Recycle Hawai`i and Earth-Friendly Schools Hawai`i will sponsor Caring for the Earth Month - 'A Billion Acts of Green. This project will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day and will support the Earth Day Network in promoting a worldwide education, action and media campaign connecting millions of individuals and catalyzing 'A Billion Acts of Green'.
